"A polished performer, Tavares offered an expressive performance that embraced the work's lyrical and virtuoso demands, his pure, direct sound never wavering from the mission at hand".
A graduate of the École Normale de Musique de Paris, Thomaz has recently finished his residency this Fall at the Fondation des Etats Unis in the south of Paris as a recipient of the Harriet Hale Woolley Scholarship - during which he explored the Belle Epoque repertoire and the music of composer Yuko Uebayashi.
Soloist, collaborator, and teacher Thomaz Tavares is now a regular performer with the Orchestra de Chambre Nouvelle Europe with whom he went on tour to China and South America. He has recently been also been a guest performer with the Fontainebleau Academy, L'Open Chamber Orchestra de Paris and Ensemble Calliopée. In addition to in-person private lessons, Thomaz currently has an online studio where he teaches students from across the world.
